How it Helps
1/3 of your Keys neighbors are uninsured. Our Keys community is built on the fabric of locals that keep our tourist town thriving; part-time servers, fishermen, maintenance and hospitality workers that go without insurance. They rely on ☀️Good Health Clinic for their care. We rely on our Donors and community leaders like you, to keep our clinic doors open for them.

Join us for a lively evening as we crown the next Big Kahuna and honor the local legends who’ve raised vital support to provide free healthcare for our uninsured neighbors in the Florida Keys.

Two friends with a shared love for the Florida Keys, boating, and community have called the islands home for the past six years. Drawn to the laid-back lifestyle and strong sense of connection, they quickly fell in love with life on the water and the people who make the Keys so special.
When they’re not out on the water or spending time with their puppies, they enjoy finding ways to give back and support the community that has welcomed them so warmly. Their goal is to make a positive impact while embracing the simple joys of island life, lasting friendships, and new adventures.
Chelsea O’Connor

““I’ve spent my life caring for the Upper Keys, both as a nurse, nurse leader, and a neighbor. My dedication to community health and service reflects the heart of the Big Kahuna Challenge.”
Chelsea O’Connor was born and raised in the Upper Keys, where she developed a deep connection to her community and a passion for caring for others. She began her nursing career with Baptist Health South Florida in 2007 as a pediatric registered nurse, building a strong foundation in compassionate, patient-centered care. In 2014, she transitioned to adult care at Mariners Hospital, where she continued to grow both clinically and as a leader.
Today, Chelsea is proud to serve as a nursing leader in the Upper Keys, supporting her team, mentoring the next generation of nurses, and helping ensure high-quality healthcare for the community. Her work is rooted in improving access to care and promoting health and wellness—values that closely align with the mission of the Good Health Clinic and the spirit of the Big Kahuna Challenge.
Outside of work, Chelsea is a proud wife and mother to two children, ages 14 and 9, who are growing up in the same community she has always called home. As a family, they enjoy everything the Florida Keys has to offer, from boating and fishing to cheering on their children at sporting events.
Chelsea is passionate about giving back, strengthening the health of the community, and leading with purpose both inside and outside the hospital.

“I’m running for Big Kahuna to assist in providing quality care to those Keys residents who would otherwise struggle to find it. I’m most excited to help promote the Good Health Clinic and the quality care they provide to the Upper Keys!”
Dr. David Padden is a board-certified, Johns Hopkins fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in arthritis and reconstructive surgery. He is the founder of the Pharos Orthobiologica Institute, where he specializes in regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and peptide therapies. The Institute also offers medical-grade laser therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of its comprehensive treatment approach.

Yesenia Moreno is the Managing Partner of New Edge Associates, a South Florida executive search and staffing firm specializing in banking, financial services, accounting, technology, operations, and professional services recruitment. With more than 25 years of experience, she is recognized for building lasting relationships and connecting organizations with exceptional talent.
She is also the Founder and President of the Florida Banking Forum, a professional association that brings together banking leaders through executive events, networking opportunities, and the FBF Magazine.
A dedicated community leader, Yesenia serves on the boards of the Key Largo Chamber, ChamberSOUTH, and the South Florida Banking Institute. She is also an Executive Committee member of Women United through United Way Miami and Sponsorship Chair for Hard Hats & High Heels, supporting Habitat for Humanity.
