Good Health Clinic abrió sus puertas en 2004. Originalmente abierta solo un par de días a la semana y ayudando a unas pocas docenas de pacientes, la clínica ahora opera 5 días a la semana, en dos ubicaciones, y atiende a todos los Cayos. Nuestros servicios han ayudado a miles de residentes de Keys.
Good Health Clinic es una entidad colaborativa que trabaja con más de 100 proveedores médicos voluntarios en todo el sur de Florida. Los pacientes reciben atención primaria de primer nivel dentro de nuestra clínica y se benefician de la coordinación de la atención y el acceso a innumerables servicios médicamente necesarios donados por nuestro generoso socios. Entre nuestros servicios en la clínica y el apoyo de nuestra Red de Voluntarios, podemos brindarles a los necesitados una verdadera solución de atención médica.

Roberto Alonso, Vice Chair
Roberto Alonso conoció los Cayos en la década de 1970, cuando visitaba el puente Bahía Honda para pescar y pasaba los fines de semana en Tavernier mientras crecía en Hialeah. Alonso y su familia habían huido de Cuba al sur de Florida en 1960 como exiliados políticos del régimen de Castro. Alonso pasaría a estudiar en Florida Atlantic y Florida International University, y finalmente se graduaría con una licenciatura en ciencias políticas.
Su primer trabajo fue realizar trabajos comerciales como grabador de joyería fina, una habilidad que ha mantenido durante toda su vida. Su primer trabajo corporativo fue como representante de cuentas y, más tarde, gerente de sucursal de una empresa de contabilidad. Más tarde se cambió al mundo de los seguros y, 40 años después, ahora es propietario y opera Borland & Associates Insurance en Key Largo.
Como presidente actual de la Cámara de Comercio de Key Largo, Alonso fue elegido por sus pares para ser un líder para las empresas locales en un momento en que muchas industrias se encuentran en medio de una recuperación económica. Mary Woods, MD, Chair
Mary Woods is currently a physician at The Medical Center at Ocean Reef and previously worked as a physician at Mariners and Fishermen’s Hospitals, and also served on the Medical Executive Committee at both hospitals. For her undergraduate education. She went to New College of Florida. She worked in the Keys as a social worker and later at Moffitt Cancer Center as a breast cancer researcher before pursuing her postgraduate education at Florida State University to earn her MD. She did her residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida in Family Medicine before returning to the Keys where her family resides.
Primero se involucró con The Good Heath Clinic como voluntaria allí. Lori Bailey
Lori has been in the banking industry for 30 years with 17 years in lending. Lori is well-versed in commercial and residential loans – large or small. Her professionalism and familiarity with Marathon and the Upper Keys area are prevalent in all of her lending transactions.
Lori is a member of the Key Largo, Ocean Reef and Marathon Chambers of Commerce, the Key Largo Rotary, Ambassador of the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce, a graduate of Leadership Monroe Class XIX, and past Vice President of Business & Professional Women of Marathon.
Bonnie A. Sorensen
Bonnie Sorensen is an Ohio Wesleyan University graduate who started her career as a third-grade teacher then became a stay at home mom raising 5 children. She was President of the Junior Women’s Club and The Jaycee Wives along with serving on the education committee for the Methodist Church. Her and the family moved to Washington DC where she started off as the office manger for their family business, Andrews-Bartlett. The company managed the decoration of the Kennedy Center for President Nixon’s Inaugural. Over the years she held several executive positions at Andrews-Bartlett, COO included. She also served as Vice President then promoted to Executive Vice President for GES Exposition Services when they acquired her company. In 2000 she, along with other employees, started Tradeshow Logic, a full-service show management company.
She is currently retired but serves as the Chairman on the GES Board and has also served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Keys History and Discovery Center and Advisory Council for Ocean Reef Club. She is married to Norm Sorensen with 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She and her husband currently live in Ocean Reef and in the summers, they reside in Marietta, Georgia. She enjoys bridge, fishing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Mel E. Montagne, Treasurer
Mel is Vice President of Sales for Insurance Office of America – Florida Keys. Mel Joined IOA in July of 2012. Prior to his current position, he trained at Lloyd’s of London, and he implemented and led the retail insurance strategy for Union Planters Bank. He specializes in condominium and homeowner associations, hospitality risks as well as contractors. He believes that his goal is not just to sell policies but to become a key piece of his client’s decision making process as well as an integral part of his community. My approach emphasizes understanding clarity and dependability.
He is also the President of Fair Insurance Rates in Monroe (FIRM). FIRM is a grassroots organization formed in February 2006 comprised of homeowners, residents and businesses who are united to fight against excessive, discriminatory and unaffordable residential, condominium and commercial property insurance rates. He has been involved with FIRM for about 15 years. He is also the Treasurer for the Good Health Clinic as well as being selected to the Government Relations Committee for the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce.
Born in Cuba, Mel immigrated to the US in the early 60’s with his parents and was raised in Miami, Florida. Mel lives in Key Largo with his wife and 1 of 3 daughters. He attended school in Miami as well as The College of Insurance in New York City. Mel has been honored by the legislative and business development committees of the Key Largo Chamber, the affiliate of the year by the Florida Keys Association of Realtors and the Marathon and Lower Keys Association of Realtors, Honorary Conch & Citizen of the Florida Keys as well as receiving the Insurance Institute of America’s Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in National Flood Insurance (ANFI).
Kate DeLoach, Secretary
Kate DeLoach es nativa de Florida y Keys de octava generación. Rosie Sánchez, MSN, RN, CNRN
Rosie Sánchez es la Directora de UCI y Servicios de Oncología en Mariner's Hospital y Fishermen's Community Hospital. Nació en Miami y se mudó a los Cayos de Florida en 1997. Tiene su licenciatura de Florida International University, una BSN de Chamberlain y una MSN de Western Governors University. Ella es activa en la comunidad a través del voluntariado y la participación en eventos locales. En su tiempo libre, Rosie disfruta pasar tiempo con su familia junto con paseos en bote, buceo, remo, campamentos, caminatas y motociclismo.
