"I wanted to write a letter thanking Dr. Yankow, Norma and all the other staff members that donate their time and energy helping those in need. I moved from North Carolina almost 2 years ago and at the age of 52 did not have any health insurance. I was referred by a dear friend who said The Good Health Clinic might be able to help and she was right.

After meeting the qualifications for assistance, I received a full physical and was able to continue with my blood pressure medicine. Over the past 2 years I have had several occasions where I needed to see a doctor and The Good Health Clinic was there to help. On my last visit I was in poor health, my blood pressure and blood sugar was up and I could hardly make it up their stairs.

I met with Dr. Yankow and he said, "Chuck if you don't lose weight, you won't be around next year." I told him I had tried losing weight and even considered the lap band but just couldn't afford $18,000 the surgery. Dr. Yankow turned to me and said, "Don't worry about it. Let me see what I can do." I received a call the next day from Dr. Yankow saying he was able to get the surgery donated from Baptist Hospital.

I have had the surgery and 2 weeks after, I have lost 20 pounds and I'm feeling great. My blood pressure and blood sugar is down and the swelling in my ankles and feet has gone down and it doesn't hurt to walk.

I cannot thank The Good Health Clinic, Dr. Yankow, Norma and staff, The Baptist Hospital System and all the others that truly help those in need enough, especially now in these tough economic times. Thank you....thank you....thank you!!!!"
