Patient eligibility
In order to meet the needs of the growing population of uninsured residents in the region, the Florida State definition of indigence needed to be amended. Along with the assistance of then-Florida State Representative Ken Sorensen, GHC Founder and Medical Director, Dr. Sandy Yankow, was able to facilitate the designation from 150% to 200% of the National Poverty Level.
Consequently, an individual with an annual income of less than $21,660 may qualify for free healthcare at GHC. See the chart below for larger households.

Requirements at a Glance:
- Completely uninsured
- Upper Florida Keys residency established for at least six months
- Proof of residency (e.g.: valid driver’s license or utility bill)
- Homeless individuals may be provided a letter of attestation courtesy of First Baptist Church of Islamorada
- Must fall at or below 200% of the National Poverty Level

The staff of the Good Health Clinic is dedicated to simplifying the application process as much as possible. Simply download, complete and either e-mail, mail or hand-deliver the PDF application to GHC. Notification will be provided after evaluation by Baptist Health South Florida, Inc., Department of Pastoral Care.
